The Opportunities tool on ColoradoGives.org will help you share new and ongoing volunteer opportunities or calendar events, manage current opportunities, and expand your reach quickly and easily.
Adding Opportunities to Your Organization Page
Once you have logged into your administrative account, go to the dashboard on your organization page and select "Fundraising Tools" > "Opportunities"
This will open your Opportunities. Any upcoming, current, or past opportunities will be listed here.
To create a new opportunity, select "Add an opportunity" in the top right corner.
This will open up a new opportunity form that you will be able to fill out.
At the top of your new opportunity, select the opportunity type (Volunteering or Calendar Event) and location type (In-person or Online):
If your opportunity is a hybrid of online and in-person, select the option that you are most advertising or directing people towards. You can add additional information about your event within the Opportunity Description section.
Once you select the type of opportunity it is, you can choose where your opportunity is managed.
If your opportunity is managed on a third-party platform (ie Eventbrite, Facebook, etc) you can share a link as to where participants should be directed to. If you would like to manage the opportunity through ColoradoGives.org select "Host this opportunity on ColoradoGives.org." By hosting your opportunity through ColoradoGives.org, participants will be able to register directly on the platform.
After you have set where the opportunity will be managed, you can begin adding more details about your opportunity.
In-person opportunity
Online opportunity
Provide a Lead contact name and email address for your opportunity. This will be your public-facing contact information:
You will also need to specify whether your opportunity is ongoing or a specific date/time:
If you are creating a volunteer opportunity (not a calendar event), you will have the option to add any special skills or conditions related to the volunteer opportunity.
Lastly, if there is any further information you would like to provide individuals prior to registering, you can attach a document here.
If you are creating a volunteer opportunity, you will have the option to also attach a waiver.
Once you have completed adding information about your opportunity, hit “Create Opportunity"
Your new opportunity will be added to your organization page under a new section called "Get Involved."
Volunteers can click on the opportunity and learn more. The register button can be found in the bottom right corner.
If the opportunity is managed on the platform, when an individual registers for your opportunity they will receive a pop-up notification. An email will also be sent to the registee.
If the opportunity is managed on a third-party platform, when the user registers for your opportunity they will be taken to the link that was provided when the opportunity was created.
Anytime a new individual registers for your opportunity, all administrators will receive a notification email.
Managing Opportunities
You can view all of the individuals that have registered for your opportunity within your Opportunities tool.
If your organization is signed up for Advanced and has access to Supporters, a Supporters record will be created for the individual or updated if they already have one.
